Graduated from the Philosophy Faculty of Kiev National University named after Taras Shevchenko. Worked as a professor and Head of the Department. In 1991-94 – Head of the Ukrainian International Institute of global and national security. In 1994-96 – Advisor of the President of Ukraine on domestic policy, adviser of the Prime Minister of Ukraine. In 1998-2000 and from 2001 to 2006 – Director of the NGO «European Integration and Development Institute». Head of International Security Subcommittee of the Committee for International Affairs. In 2009 he was appointed Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council. In 2011-2013 – Freelance Advisor of the President of Ukraine. Widely engaged in international activities in the field of security, taking part in many international projects in the areas of integration processes, processes of globalization and international security enhancement. For many years, remains one of the most influential political consultants in Ukraine. Author and host of TV programs, «Ronin» (philosophical) and «Foucault's Pendulum» (geopolitical).
