Message from the Steering Committee
Dear Colleagues! Dear Friends!
It seems that just recently we met you at the XIth International PR-Festival, and now you are welcome to the XIIth Festival. Time passes very quickly. Nevertheless, there is at least one positive feature in this – it is the new chance to meet together, to communicate, to congratulate each other with new achievements, and to talk on the matters which are so most important for us.
In order to simplify logistics, this year International PR-Festival is hosted not in Puscha Ozerna, the quiet place, so loved by us, but in the center of Kyiv, in Radisson Blu Hotel at Yaroslavov Val. In this context Organizing committee of the festival expresses our deep respect to the hotel administration for the option to host in its premises Ukrainian PR community and for the most-favoured status granted to us.
As usual, together with the prominent experts – speakers we shall find the ways of efficient development in area of business communications. In particular, we shall learn how to cope with contemporary challenges, how to establish with our partner companies, taking into account modern and complicated environment, efficient systems of goodwill management, corporate and product brand promotion mechanisms oriented at the result. That’s why the business topics to be discussed at PR forum include brand launch in saturated informational space, preventive anti-crisis PR events, re-branding and goodwill, visual communications, GR à la Ukrainian, repelling informational attacks and many other topics.
And, naturally, PR role in the society is the other key topic of the International PR-Festival of 2014 and the key idea of all informational content. In light of recent events in the country we had a chance to see once more that information is a highly efficient weapon, and today it is unfortunately aimed against the people of Ukraine. The most regrettable is the fact that this weapon is often used by our compatriots, and anyway – by our colleagues.
Subtle sense of justice is dominating now in the public mood, but we regret that it is reflected in the words and actions having nothing common with the notorious democracy. The sprouts of self-destruction, internal national hate, extremism are skilfully and insistently cultivated in our mind. We push Ukraine to the edge of abyss, and a big deal of responsibility for this lies on the irresponsible PR technologists which may be, intentionally or unintentionally, not only professionals in this area but also any other opinion leaders, such as are the experts, politicians, representatives of mass media. At the same time, turning to the Ukrainian and world history, we may find numerous sad examples of the end of such «experiments». We have to understand once and forever: no individual political ambitions, no political intrigues of internal or international scope may be put on one scale when such notions as peace, destiny of millions of people and national integrity of the state are put on the scale.
That’s why at PR-Festival of this year we will talk about ethical code of PR specialist, about the formats and technologies of informational actions which, in context of actual events, are incompatible with general human, civil and professional moral and ethical principles. PR are not the tools of war in the civilized world living according to the democratic laws, in the world in which Ukraine dreams to enter. In this world PR are the tools for establishment of confidence and dialogue. And we have no right to forget about that. That’s why during the Festival we’ll try to come to the common opinion on the most actual and urgent matters. They include, in particular: what state do we create, what are the fundamental principles forming the basis for future-oriented and voter-responsible internal and external policy. And what is the most important – what is the national idea consolidating society and giving sense to the life of Ukrainians as of the political nation.
As for the full program of the forthcoming PR forum, you are invited to look through it at our official web-site.
Organizational fee is traditionally fixed as low as possible because the Festival is a non-commercial project, and payment for participation in it is provided for compensation of administrative expenses only.
So, we are glad to announce the start of preparative stage of the XIIth International PR-Festival.
We wait for your inquiries for participation and we’ll be glad to meet all our friends and colleagues.
See you later!
Chairman, Festival Organizing committee, Vice-President of Ukrainian PR League
